The Fengqi Sunset Trail is about 3 kilometers long and is well-paved throughout, making it very comfortable to walk. There are many military relics such as tunnels and bunkers along the way, and there are pavilions and sports equipment. Starting from Tiande Hall, the view along the way is very good. You can see the Nanliao fishing port on the coast, the two white windmills that keep spinning on the Zhubei Plain, and the Hsinchu Airport. Hsinchu City Zoo is located in Hsinchu Park, covering an area of 2.7 hectares. In the early days, it was an animal park attached to the children's playground in Hsinchu Park. In 1960, the construction of animal enclosures began, and the first natural beast farm in Taiwan was completed. At the same time, many enthusiastic citizens donated animals, such as elephants, geese, lions and crocodiles. In 1971, it was approved by the provincial government to become an independent institution and became an important tourist attraction in northern Taiwan, which has continued to this day. Since 2002, due to the aging of the park's hardware equipment, some cages have been renovated. The zoo was renovated into open spaces and ecological cages to improve animal welfare, replacing the old zoo with narrow cages. On May 29, 2017, the zoo was closed for renovation in conjunction with the Hsinchu Park's regeneration plan, and reopened on December 28, 2019.
